b) At the premiere in the courtyard , various props from Alien were on display including the Space Jockey and the eggs until vandals destroyed them by fire days later.

  2. I was there! It was wondrous. The first showing had some problems but was still a memorable experience. I was working for Sherwood Oaks College at the time and my boss was Gary Shusett, brother of Ronald who co-wrote and executive produced the film. My first seminar there was on its making.

  3. Remember going thru "mother" as we entered the lobby ?
    In the picture of the group on the sidewalk I am the tall one with the white shirt that has stipes over the shoulders.
    Very memorable occasion.

  4. I was there on Saturday morning, May 28, for morning show (10 or 11 AM, I can't remember exactly).

    Walking thru Mother was especially memorable, with the blinking lights.

    Yeah, it was really cool.

    I was still in my 20s, then. G'damn!

  5. CORRECTION:That saturday morning I saw Alien at the Egyptian would have been May 26, 1979.
    Just wanted to get that right.
