Aliens: Ripley's method of attacking the alien queen with a powerloader references Hill Street Blues Season 1, Episode 6 "Film At Eleven" ( aired on February 7, 1981) ?

a)  In the 1980s, a police series called Hill Street Blues came ontto the screen and stayed on for a few years. It seemed to be as if Jim Cameron had been looking at the parts of the episodes dealing with the character Lt Hunter who led a SWAT team, and usually are scenes of sheer buffoonery

In Season 1, Episode 6 "Film At Eleven" ( aired on February 7, 1981) the character demonstrates a mechanical pole length device for grabbing and restraining perpetrators by the neck

I might wonder if this scene lead to JimCameron devising an idea for the fight scene between Ripley witht the powerloader and the Alien Queen.

She would eventually restrain it by the neck using the claw and throw it down into the airshaft
