a) I noticed a similarity between the Vincenzo Natali's drawing and Dali's painting A Portrait of Picasso, thinking that Dali's painting gave shapes and forms useful for Natali to use in creating his mutant monster.
Looking for a drawing by Eisenstein that Dali might have used for reference for his Portrait of Picasso, I came by an image of "Vierge s'introduisant un cierge devant un dévot agenouillé, ce dernier goûtant aux délices de l'hymen" (1940s?) by Sergei Eisenstein
See: References "Vierge s'introduisant un cierge devant un dévot agenouillé, ce dernier goûtant aux délices de l'hymen" (1940s?) by Sergei Eisenstein
b) Vincenzo Natali's early mutant concept (2000) for Splice (2009) references "Vierge s'introduisant un cierge devant un dévot agenouillé, ce dernier goûtant aux délices de l'hymen" (1940s?) by Sergei Eisenstein? I assume that this would be the way that he went going by my own explorations
b.i) The halo becomes the upper clawed finger while the head becomes the two long claws fingers
b.ii) The candle stick becomes the leg like protrusion that ends with a mouth filled with teeth
c) Vincenzo Natali's early mutant concept (2000) for Splice (2009) references Salvador Dali's Portrait of Picasso (1947)
c.i) The spoon transforms into the leg like elongated neck that runs beneath the body ending with a head with jaws
c.ii) The head becomes the torso
d) References the cover of The Pink Panther #21?
I had decided that the cover of The Pink Panther #21 referenced Salvador Dali's Portrait of Picasso, that there was a list shared around of these things years ago and decided that this was something that Vincenzo had referenced in his creature design. Obviously I have no evidence for this, but if I had worked it back then even thought I was a small child, I would have been making a list and sharing the information.
d.i) Engine grill transforms into the jaws
d.ii) Seat cushioning turn into the ribcage
e.) Collecting the comparable elements together
a.The bent over body of the woman becomes the head with the spiral which becomes the car body which becomes the main body of the mutant
e.ii) Tip of candle extending from the woman's groin becomes the spoon with the lute which becomes the bumper with grill and these become the teeth at the end of the leg like limb.
