HR Giger's ZDF (work 433) (1980) references ceiling decorations
from Temple of Hathor in Egypt via the cover of Tomita- Bolero?
a) ZDF by HR Giger (1980) work 433
Giger's "ZDF" work 433 (1980) |
b) References ceiling of Hypostle Hall in the temple of Hathor ? Here is a cieling with representations of the Zodiac and so appears to be a star map of the ancient Egyptian era.
c) The sun becomes the skull on the sword handle. The beams of light from the sun continue to be so in Giger's painting and the Hathor head transforms into this strange bewildering testicle like creature with rodent teeth.
d) Reversing the ceiling decoration, the goddess Nuts slanting legs become incorporated in the slanting form of left of the ZDF painting with the sun becoming the shoulder of the long arm in ZDF.
e) Another thing to note, the Hathor face perhaps becomes used again as the disembodied lower part of a human face in Giger's painting.
