Raised by Wolves: In relation to Alien and Blade Runner

leading from

a) Aaron Guzibowski on a connection with the Alien and Blade Runner timelines

Aaron Guzibowski the writer of the series had not intended it to be the same timeline  as Alien or Blade Runner or anything else

But at the same time it definitely dealt with a lot of the same themes and ideas and concepts.

He thought that it was if there is some DNA that they have in common, but they are not literally trying to connect with those mythologies.

b) Ridley Scott's view on a connection with the Alien timeline

Ridley agreed that there was no connection but open minded about the idea but thought that if one had to compare the universe of Alien and Raised by Wolves, then the Alien story felt that it might take place some time before Raised by Wolves.

The Nostromo was probably financed by an organised global economy while Raised by Wolves was about post-global war chaos

  1. Aaron Guzibowski: But directly in terms of the actual mythology in the story and the timeline, it is not supposed to be of the same timeline as Alien or Blade Runner or anything else. But at the same time, again, we are definitely dealing with a lot of the same themes and ideas and concepts. There is some DNA that they have in common, but we are not literally trying to connect with those mythologies. 2. Live-fast-die-hard (October 1st 2020): Hey there Mr. Scott!!!! Just finished watching the season finale at midnight when it come out. Absolute madness (in a GOOD way) and I loved the turn the show took. One question though, is this series existing in the same universe as the Alien franchise? Seems there are so many parrallels to be found. Love this show btw! Thanks for your time.
  3. Ridley Scott (hbomac (October 1st 2020): Interesting question but, no, the first Alien story feels like it may be some time before Raised By Wolves, in that the Nostromo was probably financed by an organised global economy. Wolves is about post-global war chaos.
