As soon as this cover illustration came out on the internet around of March of 2022, I decided to take a look at it back then.

 

 

b) Bélial, Emperor of the Flies (1948) by Wifredo Lam 

Wifredo Lam is one of my favourites since is exhibition at the Tate Modern in 2018, so it felt important for me to take a look at comparisons

 

 

c) The mysterious dark creature from the painting and the red tinged Neomorph.

Its forelimb and leg in the background become the pulse rifle

 

 

d) The downward hanging head and the mouth become the dark creature become the downward pointing head of this alien creature

 

 

 

 

e) The raised band becomes a raised hand and the spines become a couple backspines as well as an upper arm

f) This figure holding the dagger and an elegua in a dish becomes the female colonial marine. 

Perhaps the little Elegua becomes her head

g) The dagger becomes the gun

 

 

 

 

h) The trunk of the body of the downward hanging elegua becomes the belt of amunition

i) Meanwhile the area with the grid of numbers becomes the gun fire flash

j) The space between the mandibles of this creature hanging upside down becomes the lower Colonial Marine's backpack

k) The dragon like tail becomes the flying 'Juggernaut" spacecraft

 

l) Perhaps the raised finger of a hand spike of the lower left purple or red tinged Neomorph.

 

The bottom of the number chart becomes its arm

 

 

m) Meanwhile the triangle form in the space between the two legs of the dark shadowy figure becomes a triangular space formed by two pulse rifles and the legs of the red or purple tinged neomorph.
