b) References Veracruz Polychrome Tripod Plate, Los Tuxtlas style Late Classic, ca. A.D. 550-950?
Waabooz Ann was involved in an online conversation in February 2024 where a picture of this plate had been posted and people began to compare it to Giger's Alien beast as seen on the cover of the book Giger's Aliens and so he was able to agree and shared the image at Alien: Expanded Universe on Facebook (See: https://www.facebook.com/groups/alien.expanded.universe/posts/10161574666554090/)
Seeing it myself I started to compare it to Giger's Necronom IV
There might be more than one plate like this out there, I dodn't really know how Giger should have come to know about it yet, although this had been exhibited in Ancient Art of Latin America from the Collection of Jay C. Leff, The Brooklyn Museum, November 22, 1966 -March 5, 1967, but would not have been visible in the catalogue.
If there is more than one similar plate like this perhaps this is at least a good example to compare to

e) Face becomes the face
f) The space above the head and the upper part of the tail becomes the dome
g) kink in tail at the back of the head becomes the space in the back of the neck
h) upper torso and leg becomes the upper torso
i) shoulder becomes the shoulder
j) Abstract fleshy form becmes the thumb thumb
