Chris Foss developed the idea from his design for a Guild Cargo Ship for Alejandro Jodorowsky's Dune
He later developed further developed the Leviathan design as a brightly coloured painting for the cover of his book 21st Century Foss transforming the ship into the brightly striped Dragons Dream
