Propstore: This is a special effects Alien Warrior hero head mask from the 2004 sci-fi mashup Alien vs. Predator. This piece would have been worn by a performer in a full Alien suit to get the full range of motion, with puppeteers controlling the actual facial movements. This head was used in the film when a Predator shoots a net on an unsuspecting lunging Alien; the net is then shown digging into the Warrior’s head as it tries to free itself. Propstore: The head mask is made of foam latex at the neck with plastic making up the elongated head. The very top section of the head is made of silicone, creating the effect of the net “digging in” to the Alien’s head as it struggles to escape. The bottom of the piece features a front zipper, making the piece easy to connect/disconnect to the Alien suit. Additionally, there are two small eyeholes in the front of the neck made of black mesh for the mask wearer to see out of. This head mask still has numerous cables attached from the production, running from the head to five puppeteer control levers mounted on a wooden base. Once the cables are outstretched, the levers, when manipulated, control the Alien’s upper lip as well as the inner and outer lower lip. (Source: http://www.propstore.com/)

Propstore: This sfx piece comes on a white biscuit foam bust and measures approximately 24” x 19” x 38” (61cm x 48cm x 97cm); the puppeteer control base measures approximately 19” x 11” (48cm x 28cm). Both the head mask as well as the control base feature some wear due to production use and storage; additionally, two of the five levers no longer function.
