a) My idea is that Kei Kobayashi referenced "John Carter et Geronimo Martinez luttent pour le son parfait " from Moebius' portfolio Rumbas
These two images have lines going across the landscape with the central figure staring up, then perhaps one sharp rock is made larger. There are other points of comparison as listed below
Along with this, I think that Kei Kobayashi also referenced "Judith Beheading Holofernes" (1611-1612) by Artemisia Gentileschi which looks to me as if Moebius too referenced it in his illustration, so it would seem as if there was some insight into what was going on in Moebius illustration. (See Moebius' "John Carter et Geronimo Martinez luttent pour le son parfait " (1994) references "Judith Beheading Holofernes" (1611-1612) by Artemisia Gentileschi?)
b) Faces with ears covered, looking up
c) The shadow becomes a blue platform
d) The person hanging on has been reduced to a squiggly line which has been turned into the broken remains of a glass shell. Perhaps the glass shell also grew out of the presence of the balloons
e) The left balloon has transformed into the spaceship.
