a) I came to realise that a drawing by Moebius of his Arzach character for a science fiction bookshop catalogue cover appeared to reference both the Necronom IV and Goya's Saturn Devouring His Son, and this led me to believing that he was playing around with the idea that Necronom IV also referenced the same Goya painting. ( See: Illustration of the Arzach character for the cover of the catalogue for the bookshop "Temps Futurs" (1976) by Moebius)

b) I had found enough
things that Giger had referenced and I wondered how this could fit it,
but it was also possible to say that while Giger had referenced the Pink
Panther comic book cover, that he had also referenced Goya's Saturn
Devouring his son and also that the Pink Panther comic book cover,
(while I had earlier perceived a connection between this illustration
and Francis Bacon's Study For A Bullfight), it also referenced Goya's
Saturn Devouring His Son and so Giger thought about the two merged
together for his Necronom beas

c) While Saturn devouring his son, the Pink Panther was devouring a hamburger.
The slanting lit knee transforms into the front of the van.
d) The eyes transform into the Pink Panther's ear, the arm of the son turns into the panther's neck
e) The son's torso transforms into the Pink Panther's torso
f) The elbow on the left transforms into the rear left corner of the van roof, while the space formed in the bend between the upper and lower arm becomes the sun roof gap .
