(Dali.org :This small canvas is one of the most curious, controversial and outrageous objects in the Dalí Museum collection. Dalí took a small anonymous print of a snowy landscape with horses and used gouache to add and subtract details, transforming it into a caricature of the seated Führer presented from behind. The title reveals that the viewer is catching him at the compromising moment of his self-pleasure. Dalí briefly summarized the reason for the Führer’s unexpected presentation, saying, “Hitler Masturbating because he is lose le var (war)!
