Panel showing the Space Jockey in his spacecraft from "The Alien" from Dark Horse's Aliens The Platinum Edition, (April 1992) references the Detroit Industry mural, (1932-33) by Diego Rivera ?

a) Panel showing the Space Jockey in his spacecraft from "The Alien" from Dark Horse's Aliens The Platinum Edition, (April 1992)

b) References the Detroit Industry mural, (1932-33) by Diego Rivera (which I think references the frontispiece showing Eblis sitting upon a globe of fire (1815) above) ?

The mural has an environment with long twisting shoots and conveyor belts along with bits of machinery being moved around that you could say carried over into the differnent curved and twisting forms in the Space Jockey's pilot chamber.

There are panels with factory scenes in the foreground and they could easily help inspire the idea of the mutitude of screens (of which four are seen) showing aliens, battles, alien spores and a face hugger.

c.i) Areas to compare

c.ii) Here, this piece of machinery becomes the space jockey

c.iii) This twisting shoot and conveyor belt beneath become the telescope like machine

d.i) Figures in overalls against a background of machinery

d.ii) This wheel axel becomes the side of the platform on which the space jockey stands
