"Okay, Houston ... we've had a problem here"!

I first assumed that Giger must have referenced the drawing of Wernher Von Braun as if he were transforming the shapes and forms into his biomechanoids but his illustration was done in 1967 and the drawing of Wernher was of him witnessing the Apollo XI misison in 1969

I suppose that I can't pretend that theVon Braun drawing done a few years earlier and the relabled.

I can't easily imagine McMahon trying to do his best to make his drawing conform to Giger's Astro-Eunuchs even if I think the Giger might have caught the attention of Kubrick's wife.

So I'm aware of that problem and if the McMahon came after, I might want to imagine that Giger must have foreseen the drawing of Von Braun by McMahon in a bewildering way.

But I would have to settle for the idea that Giger's poster imag was being sentt around and McMahon must have seen it, used it in his composition and then later Giger found out and utilised that transformation in his design for the Space Jockey later on.

The question might then be how much does the drawing of Von Braun deviate from what he actually saw in front of him?
