After seeing the similarity between the map and the Henu Barque, I started to wonder if they decided to absorb elements of Giger's painting of the Space Jockey because I had identified a similarity between it and the Henu Barque.

The two side by side. 

So the map’s general outline near enough conforms to the space jockey in a general way and there are these lovely references to 3 on the right. as if they went for a Giger related idea to help make it interesting and complicated, and out of the Giger’s you have this.
