Alien: Development of the hypersleep chamber via the Countdown comic book #1, 1971 ?

 leading from

a) Countdown comic story pt1 with art by Jim Burns from Countdown #1, 1971

This comic would have had comic book stories based on TV programs, with a significant amount based on Gerry Anderson's TV series such as Thunderbirds, UFO, Stingray, and a certain number of people who were in the special effects department for Alien had worked on Gerry Anderson's productions.

So I would like to imagine that they would have been looking at this comic book and its later incarnations for idea, and perhaps Ridley would have had a look for ideas as well since he needed a solid look for the Alien movie.

b) Panel showing the Entrance door to the Cryodorm of the 'Countdown'

c) In Alien, we are introduced to the closed doorway leading into the hypersleep chamber in the Nostromo

d) Inside the Cryodorm with its six petaled sleeper

e) Then door suddenly opens to reveal the chamber with the seven petaled sleep
