a) Ridley Scott's early storyboard of the space jockey (1978) for Alien
b) The astronomy section of Wernher Von Braun's Space Wheel from 1956 as seen in a Disney documentary
Like the cover of The Pink Panther #33 comic book which appeared to be referenced in Giger's Necronom V, it appears on at least one level to reference the Mummification Ritual image from the Egyptian Book of the Dead with Anubis leaning over the body of a dead person as he is being mummified, and so these appear to both feed ino Ridley's storyboard of the Space Jockey,
c) One above the other
One could look a this telescope like thing seen as pale segments as the cocoon like torso of the space jockey, with the piano with player as its head
d) This large dark part of the telescope becomes the rear of the chair with the white circle becoming the buttocks
The angle under the arm like structure sticking out as a slant becoming near enough the area between the lower abdomen and he legs
e) The piano and the man standing by it playing become the head of the Space Jockey
f) While one one level this pale segmented telescope like thing as the cocoon like torso of the space jockey, the telescope becomes part of the design of the space jockey chair
g) The red circle on the square background becomes a part of the astronaut, perhaps the circle on the back or he helmet
