This would be used for scanning by Blue Sky to help bring the alien into a sense of virtual reality so that they could create digital puppets versions of the creature.






b) Below is an actual maquette itself as seen some years later photographed in detail for an online auction


  1. A xenomorph scanning maquette from the production of Jean-Pierre Jeunet's sci-fi horror film sequel Alien: Resurrection. Following her death in Alien ³, Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) was revived as the clone Ripley 8 and soon found herself face to face once again with the deadly xenomorphs.   2. Designed and fabricated by the Academy Award-winning special effects group Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. (ADI), this molded plaster scanning maquette is painted a dark gray-blue and depicts a xenomorph's head, torso, and long tail, with connecting sockets for an arm and leg to be attached. The maquette is one-sided and flat on the back. It is in good overall condition with wear from handling and age, including chips to the paint and minor scuffs.
