HR Giger's Alien III (Side view II, first state) references portrait photo of JG Ballard for Radio Times (1973)?

a) The idea is that Giger was JG Ballard fan, admiring his surrealistic writings, and the first thing he wanted to do when he found the JG Ballard photo in the Radio Times was have the urge to integrate it into one of his paintings and the car wrecks also would give him something to play with in the composition.

b) The window frame in the background becomes the hand. The shadow across HG Ballard's leg becomes an arm. Wreckage slanting down to the left becomes the tongue.



c) Windows and roof of car in the background become the bulging back of the beast.


d) J G Ballard's head and shoulder and the beast's shoulder next to limbless shoulder form..



e) The shadow to the left of JG Ballard's foot becomes a hand. The badge on the front of the car becomes the tip of an elbow. The grill becomes the lower rib cage.



f) Closeup of the car bonnet badge which becomes the elbow
