a) Publicity image with James Burke for The Burke Special in The Radio Times, (19th July 1973) (photographer unknown although it would be on the actual page itself, but I only have a scan)

b) Gethsemane (1944) by Mark Rothko
My idea is that the publicity photo of James Burke roughly references the painting by Rothko.

c) Left sections side by sides, as if the dark drooping area becomes the wheels and the central dark shape becomes the arm, the curving ribbed shape above becomes the radio,
d) Mid sections side by side. the part with the red circle becomes the almost rectangular device with a dark frame seen above his head in the photo but the rest of the centre of the rotary washing line like device becomes James Burke holding the camera.
e) Right sections side by side. The hanging sheet generally becomes the window screen
f) Detail from above showing the idea that the rubbed form becomes the fingers
g) A shape at the bottom of the sheet might become the side view mirror
