v) Added HR Giger: Development of Necronom IV via Goya's "Saturn eating his son" via Alice and the flamingo from Lewis Carroll's Alice In Wonderland (Published 1865) by John Tenniel and the cover of Pink Panther #13?   to act as an index page for the articles discussing the interconnection between Goya's "Saturn eating his son via Lewis Carroll's Alice In Wonderland (Published 1865) by John Tenniel, the cover of Pink Panther #13 and Giger's Necronom IV?

i) Updated  Alien: The TV series: Noah Hawley pitched a TV series for Alien with the news about an Alien TV series being made

December 9th 2020

i) re-edited Alien Covenant: Danny McBride with an attempt to make more sense out of it, breaking up sentences that had too many 'ands' in them and correcting places where I wrote McBride as McBridge
ii) re-Edited Alien: The biomechanoid that Dan O'Bannon wanted because it looked too confusing to read and perhaps there was nothing much to make sense from anyway. we still don't have a final word on which image he really wanted to base his Alien on, and perhaps there wasn't one specific one.

i)  I've updated Alien: Locating the Nostromo slightly with an examination of the chart on Lambert's computer.

Honestly I still don't really know what is what on there, but I have a favourite personal idea that Zeta II Reticuli is a space lane crossroads or a marker in deep space because of its celebrity status since the Betty Hill starmap.

It's not an idea that's likely to be popular because everyone wants to stick the "LV-426" planetoid in orbit around a gas giant orbiting Zeta II Reticuli these days and I haven't given in to that assumption, because I do like to wonder what was on people's minds at the the time Alien was made

So ahead of that I admit there isn't much to really make out from the chart on the computer, the strange numbers and letters probably mean nothing, and that nothing I've added to the page at present is really going to spark off much interest about the subject any more than before.

I've come to terms with the idea that Alien takes place in a cosmos arranged like a Escher illustration

Of course having said that, if Zeta Ii Reticuli becomes the place where the planetoid is found in future movies, I don't really mind because I've come to terms with how insanely fragmented these films are in terms of continuity where one thing isn't quite the same as it is in another film and perhaps everything could indeed changed again leading to more fury from numerous people..

i) Added Predator 2 : Chiquita (Work 190) (1972) by HR Giger referenced in storyboard for the skull trophy display? It probably wouldn't really interest anyone to assume that there was a connection between the design for the skull display and Giger paintings for an average fan because it's a little bit hard to look at these things and say anything at all about it. But still I can look at these things , point out that there is a connection, say why and perceive that there were some associations being made by the artists behind this work while flipping through Giger's paintings of certain types.

i) Added: Alien Monster IV (1978) (work 409) by HR Giger references page from the Codex Tudela (Origin 1530–1554 − Valley of Mexico)? which I think was a very interesting connection for me to make and that brought me to wonder what else there was to say about that codex image

November 27th 2020

i) Added Development of the Alien life form via Tintin and the Pink Panther summary of some thoughts about it at the Alien, Predalien, Ad Infinitum...  blog as a statement summarizing some thoughts that seemed abstract, and it appears that the story for Alien might as well centre around the idea of obsessional behaviour surrounding jewels and diamonds, etc, as if O'Bannon was asking, how do people behave regarding jewels, what sort of obsessional behaviour and neurosis might erupt out of that. If he worked for around what to do with a jewel, then it worked for an alien monster, but it might be strange to think about how Dan came up with that idea. One thing though is that the Pink Panther is supposed to be seen inside a certain diamond and the Pink Panther appeared appeared to be something used in Giger's paintings just as it was in a number of people's paintings almost as a disguised form. But I don't know who was responsible for all of this because it's like madness (This has now been removed)

November 21st 2020

i) Added: Alien: Ian Nathan's Alien Vault and HR Giger's Alien Life Cycle Hieroglyphics. I want to say that this is a bit of a strange book that he wrote with all of its errors and and perhaps I should be doing a review of the whole thing criticising every page for its almost purposeful inaccuracies or confusing remarks, but he had a view on the Hieroglyphics that seemed like bollocks and he was not the only person who said some rather confusing words about it/

a) Added "Defiance" alien (from around 2015?) by Tristan Jones,  as an index page relating to this certain illustration along with pages, since I took a look at his drawings relating to Greg Land's illustration of an Alien, and noticed something that I thought was interesting and very creative at the same time. This leads to  i) "Defiance" alien (from around 2015?) by Tristan Jones references references 'Fall of the Damned' (1450 approx) by Dieric Bouts? and ii) "Defiance" alien (from around 2015?) by Tristan Jones references cover art for Clive Barker's Books of Blood vol 1 (Published 1988)?

a) Updated Origins of Weylan-yutani with a note about the use of a Mesoamerican eagle emblem as a logo for an oil company in William Friedkin's Sorcerer (1977) that seemed interesting in terms of the Weylan-Yutani Egyptian wings emblem.

a) Continued to update an article about some elements of the making of the movie Brainstorm along with Stanislav Grof's assistance. This one's quite tought to deal with and I realise that there what I will put together wont be considered that interesting to anyone really.

September 7th

a) Added some more text to Alien Resurrection: On the set of the Viper's Nest after having watched an E-Online program where some of Sigourney's words on the set could be heard. I liked the idea of recording something that was going on there. Meanwhile I moved some photos of the biomechanic landscape tiles from Designing The Viper's Pit to Into The Living Landscape - Creating the Viper's nest.
I still find the scene to be very curious to think about, as if Stanislav Grof ought to have something to say about it

August 9th

a) Reorganised the Jack Kirby page with all the Kirby pictures that have a connection with this world of Alien in some way, often because of Giger's acknowledged his artwork, but it was a complete mess and I even found that references to Necronom IV and IX had been written instead of I and III which does worry me, but no one notices it and can tell me, and years later I discover the problem by myself. So now my idea is to have a page for each relevant picture by Kirby that acts as an index for all of these other little sections. (I would like to have something more to say about the Kirby/Giger connection which makes me think of the Ciba-Geigy pharmaceutical company which sent a human skull to Giger's father as a promotional item)
b) Added Alien Resurrection: Jean-Jacques Beineix was considered for director which is almost interesting although they seemed to be going to anyone in the French film industry at the time

b) Added: Page from The Eternals #7 (January, 1977) by Jack Kirby references "A battery shelled" (1919) by Wyndham Lewis exploring one painting that seemed to have led to the illustration

August 6th

a) At this time, I'm trying to work out the events surrounding the swimming aliens of Alien Resurrection since the stories all seem to be mixed together that there were going to be swimming aliens and CGI was used. The development of the article has been going on for a while and my brain has been swimming around. I found my Cinefex 73 recently after I couldn't find it for a long while, perhaps because I didn't recognise it by the cover that has a Starship Trooper image on the front. The events at Blue Sky probably are hard to make interesting because most of the time these people do nothing but sit on their backsides working on computer generated models freaking out about the size of the megabytes of their files for this project, and there is their greatest concern is how they can merge their work with the with the real life footage. I would of course love to turn the series events into a Gibsonesque cyberpunk thriller about how the alien entered the matrix but it's not happening. See Alien Resurrection: Alien Beast CGI

August 4th
a)  Added Alien-vs-Predator: Predalien hybrid concepts list after the file of concepts was posted at Movie Relics on Facebook on August 1st 2020. There is something to say about all these concepts indeed but I have to research these things more.

June 22nd

a) I rewrote/re-edited parts of Alien: The robot head speaks. What I had written before was hastily slapped down with the hope that something else would come to the surface, and I had a go at editing/reorganising what was there. That whole thing is rather difficult to do to say the least, or perhaps I had finally been able to take another step around the walls of perception with this one. What we seemed to have are bits and pieces from Ridley Scott and Veronica Cartwright along with a script re-edit and Alan Dean Foster's novel that was based on an Alien script, but the whole matter is rather blurred, and bits from the Alien laserdisc essay. The page doesn't have much going visually because well nothing that's said by robot seems to be easily illustrated and I can imagine people looking at this long page full of text and getting lost very easily.
b) With that I've re-edited Alien: Industrial Paranoia, and this generally overlaps with The Robot Head speaks

b) Re-edited Guillermo Del Toro talks about Lovecraft's influence on Alien and broke it down into sections with different pages. (I have to say that I've never been happy with the way that I write these articles because there's always these jumbled up odd twists and turns in understanding what's being said and it might take years to just really have it all in near enough full perspective. I should say that if Mr Del Toro had somehow read my article and didn't like it. My further explorations into the subject might even be more awful to read even if it did make much more sense)
